Under 2019 lanserar IdeK ett mentorskapsprogram för den svenska museisektorn. Med stöd av en internationella expert kan du under tio månader få support i ditt arbete, med syfte att stärka din egen kompetens och organisationens beredskap för en värld där digitala verktyg, metoder och tänkesätt är en förutsättning för att skapa framgångsrika museiupplevelser och museiverksamheter. Mentorskapsprogrammet vänder sig till chefer, verksamhetsledare, avdelnings-/enhetschefer och projektledare.

Museums in Sweden are increasingly aware that digital development is a key priority to ensure our survival and relevance. Digital (transformation) impacts all areas of museums – from inclusive visitor experiences and exhibitions to creating participatory archives and collections, to our own capacity and working methods. In response to this, IDEK is launching a new mentoring programme to enable change agents in the cultural sector to develop innovative, digitally-enabled ways of working that can impact your own practice, your team and your organisation.

This programme is open to mid-career managers in all fields – curatorial, exhibition, education, archive, library etc. The programme also welcomes museum managers supporting their organization in building capacity to cater for audiences in a digital first world. We have created a network of senior mentors with international experience who will support you to develop strategies that can impact your day-to-day operations as well as help you conceive new ideas.

The programme consists of four online talks with your mentor and e-mail support in between. The talks will give you the opportunity to gain insight into your choices and decisions. As the programme runs for 10 months there will be time for improvement and reflections, in dialogue with your mentor.

We have the capacity to support a maximum of 10 participants in 2019. We will select participants based on their leadership vision, previous experiences and carefully match them with our mentors for best possible result.
